Chow Chows' are one of the oldest breeds of dog around. They are one of the first breeds of dogs to come from a wolf. Chow Chows were used as hunting dogs and guard dogs in china around 200 B.C.  The chow chows blue-black tounge is a distinct characteristic of the breed.
